One of the seven competing films at the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival’s people’s choice award has been eliminated.
As voting for the Fajr Film Festival people’s choice award continues, six of the seven competing films remained on the list.
After days of voting, ‘Life Hanging’ co-directed by Hossein Amiri-Domari and Pedram Amiri was omitted from the list.
‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’ directed by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian, ‘Night of the Full Moon’ directed by Narges Abyar, ‘6.5 per Meter’ directed by Saeed Roustaee, ‘The Warden’ directed by Nima Javidi, ‘23 People’ directed by Mehdi Jafari, and ‘Takhti, the World Champion’ directed by Bahram Tavakkoli have so far received the most votes from the audience.
The winner of the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival’s People’s Choice Award will be announced during the awards ceremony on the final day of the event.
Founded in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an annual film event celebrating Iranian cinema. Over the years, the event has played a key role in the development of the Iranian film industry.
This year’s festival, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, is currently underway with the closing ceremony scheduled for February 11, 2019.
